He wrote me a poem
He wrote me a poem, a song, and a letter. I bought him a book, my favorite one. He finished it, even though it took him all summer. He took me to a bookstore and read me ee cummings: sunsets. It made me feel free.  Misunderstood; that’s both of us. You, by the masses that are quick to categorize you. Me, by the friends that I try so hard to mold into you. My mask is my crucifix. Yours is...

Stars
You are the most brilliant star. The one that catches my eye on a night when nothing can calm my racing thoughts. It’s a shame, though.Watching  you burn Dying slowly.  A quick goodbye would be less painful. But I am tempted to stay and see if the brilliance, the brightness, can  outlast all of the dark matter that is somehow consuming you. Still, I am just an...

I am excited...
Because I found a job I’m possibly interested in!  I know I want to work for a cause and I am especially passionate about working with and advocating for women. Thanks to idealist, I found a job at a homeless shelter for women in Boston. I hope to get my application out this week… :)

Voice
I was 12 when I won  a poetry contest. There were a lot of people in the contest. I won the grand prize. After that, I did a lot of poetry readings. People thought I was brilliant—they said.  I wrote about being a plastic ballerina on top of a music box. But then I lost my voice. They told me I should go to Harvard. And if I wasn’t the valedictorian that they would be disappointed  because I...

Dreamers and Realists
There are dreamers, and there are realists in this world. You’d think the dreamers would find the dreamers and the realists would find the realists but more often than not, the opposite is true. You see, the dreamers need the realists to keep them from soaring too close to the sun. And the realists? Well, without the dreamers, they might not ever get off the ground. Love this : )

Date A Girl Who Reads
Date a girl who reads. Date a girl who spends her money on books instead of clothes. She has problems with closet space because she has too many books. Date a girl who has a list of books she wants to read, who has had a library card since she was twelve. Find a girl who reads. You’ll know that she does because she will always have an unread book in her bag. She’s the one lovingly looking over...
